Increased donations in 2021 when charities have needed it most

In a year when the whole of Australia felt the continued impact of COVID-19, funding and support for charities was more critical than ever before.  Traditional streams of revenue and access to volunteers dried up, whilst demand for services increased exponentially. The Pinnacle Charitable Foundation donated just under $1 million in the 2021 calendar year, an increase of over $600,000 from 2020. Including combined contributions from Affiliate donations and Workplace Giving, the Group’s philanthropy has exceeded $1.4 million.

It’s funding that has meant so much more than the money; it’s enabled beneficiaries to provide care, connection and compassion through workshops, forums, online help, counselling, education, tutoring, gift packs, publications, legal advice, specialised training, technology support and emergency relief. It’s helped to facilitate cutting edge and complex research, pilot projects, explore online programs, build advocacy networks and create program champions, and has driven change and delivered real impact to many people across many walks of life in a difficult year.

Across the Foundation’s six areas of giving, contributions ranging from $20,000 to $250,000 have been able to support nine existing charities plus five new charity partnerships. The Foundation has also been an advocate of flexibility and adaptability in program delivery, in a year when some charities could not even open the doors to deliver the initiatives earmarked for support. The Foundation also wishes to thank the understanding of Affiliates in this regard, and their willingness to trust the partners they are co-funding.
