Step Challenge 2026: Walking for mental health month
The Pinnacle Step Challenge has wrapped up for another year. Held each October to mark Mental Health Month, the challenge raises awareness of mental health and wellbeing and encourages people to look after themselves and those around them. This year, more than 200 participants from Pinnacle and Affiliates took part, forming 19 teams across five countries and walking more than 31.5 million steps over two week.
The challenge was a reminder of how closely physical activity and mental wellbeing are linked. Lunchtime walks, early morning starts and friendly competition gave people across our offices a reason to get moving, take a break from their desks and connect with colleagues near and far. Many teams also ran their own challenges along the way!

Through this challenge, $50,000 was raised for our long-term partner R U OK?, in support of ongoing efforts to encourage meaningful conversations with people who may be struggling. We were pleased to hand over the donation to R U OK? CEO Lach Searle at Pinnacle’s 20th anniversary celebration in Sydney, where Lach gave a thoughtful speech on the work R U OK? is doing in multicultural communities across Australia. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make it a great way to mark Mental Health Month.
